Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept walk-ins?
In order to see Dr. Stepniak, a referral from a registered Health Care Provider (such as a Physician or Nurse Practitioner) is required.
What are the wait times like?
Referrals are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Each referral is triaged based on the urgency of clinical needs. As such, wait times can vary from a few days to one year. If you feel there is a change in your condition, please contact your referring Health Care Provider.
What should I bring to My appointment?
A valid health card and an updated list of medications. If your child is seeing Dr. Stepniak for possible sleep disordered breathing (sleep apnea), it is helpful to bring a 30-60 second audio clip of your child sleeping.
What is going to happen at my appointment?
If you are seeing Dr. Stepniak at the office, you will be scheduled for a consultation in which you will discuss your medical concern and health history. Depending on the nature of your visit, you may or may not be booked for an audiogram first (hearing test). If you are scheduled to be seen in Ambulatory Care at Bluewater Health, please be prepared to possibly have a procedure (such as a skin cancer removal or biopsy) performed the same day.
Is there a charge for missed appointments?
If you do not provide 24 hours advance notice of cancellation you may be charged a cancellation fee that will require payment prior to a new appointment being arranged.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All consultations, visits, procedures and surgeries are insured by OHIP. However, if payment is required for a missed appointment, medical form, or device purchase, cash and e-transfers are currently accepted.
